Resonance Studio is a collaborative founded by light artist Sally Weber and optical designer Craig Newswanger

We are creatures of our sun. Everything on earth exists due to the binding forces and chemistry between our sun and the earth. Like touching a thread of a spider web, all aspects of life are connected, arising together even though we experience them linearly as cause and effect. Slowly many unintended consequences are revealed over time due to our short life span compared to the earth, the sun, and the billions of stars light years away. We can only glimpse at the long term effects of our best intentions, but we can reveal the subtle mysteries that compose our perception of our place in this world and our connections to the sun and the cosmos that bind us to nature and each other.

Life partners, Sally Weber and Craig Newswanger have worked at the intersection of art, science and technology for over thirty years. Collaborating since 2020, their immersive installations explore fundamental properties of nature through light. The essence of their work is to reveal our interconnections to nature and the subtleties of how we perceive the world around us through their understanding of physical phenomena, light, and human perception.

Resonance Studio received the CODAworx Epson Emerging Artist Award at the CODA Summit in 2023.

Sally Weber (Resonance Studio) uses light illusions, optical and digital holography, video, and dimensional photography to reveal the immediacy of the essential natural forces underlying life and the patterns that interconnect them.
